This double CD is the result of many years of research and development. Its structure and form are (I think) unique in a commercial CD release: the two CDs are designed to be played simultaneously on two CD players, both set to “random” or “shuffle”, resulting in an endlessly reconfiguring sound experience. There are constantly new juxtapositions of the elements on the two CDs resulting in new realms of tone, rhythm, modality and texture. All sounds were improvised live on my vielle à roue* and, through the two disk format, I intend to extend the improvisational aspect to the playback itself.
The two CDs can be played on any convenient combination of two playback systems: a stereo system, portable player (boom-box), computer with attached speakers, DVD/home theatre system can all be used for effective playback. Even placing the two players in different rooms can be effective, extending the sound-field and integrating it further into your sonic environment. Feel free to experiment.
